Philly GiveCamp 2015 will be held in Malvern, PA during the weekend of January 16-18, 2015
What is Philly GiveCamp?
Philly GiveCamp is a weekend-long event where software developers, designers, and database administrators donate their time to create custom software for nonprofit organizations.
How do I register?
In order to volunteer at Philly GiveCamp, you must register via our website and present your admission ticket upon arrival. Registration for the 2015 event has closed.
When is Philly GiveCamp?
Philly GiveCamp 2015 will be held during MLK Weekend from Friday, January 16 until Sunday, January 18, 2015.
- Friday – 6 pm – 10 pm (dinner provided)
- Saturday – 9 am – 10 pm (breakfast, lunch and dinner provided)
- Sunday – 9 am – 2 pm (breakfast and lunch provided)
What should I bring?
Just your laptop and a can-do attitude!
WiFi, food and refreshments will be provided during the event. Please let us know if you have any dietary needs or food allergies.
What can I expect?
As a volunteer, you will be paired with one of our 30 selected nonprofit organizations. Over the course of the weekend your team will develop a solution which solves a technology issue that your nonprofit faces.
Friday evening is the kickoff for the event and a chance for volunteers to meet fellow team members and representatives from their assigned nonprofit.
Saturday is when the bulk of the work takes place, with teams working on design and construction of each solution.
Sunday is our final day, each team should be working on the finishing touches and we end the event with a recap of all of the projects.
At the end of the weekend, nonprofits will leave with technology solutions that would normally have cost thousands of dollars. During last year’s event, 60 volunteers provided over $135,000 worth of services to 27 nonprofits. We hope that you will be able to top that!
